Alexis “Lex” A. Johnson, is originally from Chicago, Illinois. Lex received his Bachelors Degree from Morehouse College located in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996. Immediately thereafter, Lex attended Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he graduated and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1999.
Upon graduation from law school and passing the Illinois Bar, Lex accepted a position as an Assistant State Attorney in the Cook County State Attorney’s Office where he gained vast trial experience and his extensive knowledge of our often complicated Criminal Justice System. During his tenure as a prosecutor, Lex handled thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to complex felonies and tried hundreds of cases to verdict before bench and jury.
After leaving the Cook County State Attorney’s Office, Lex opened the doors of Lex A. Johnson & Associates, P.C. and concentrated his practice to defending the rights of the criminally accused. Lex is routinely mentioned in the legal community as a tough, dedicated trial attorney who achieves results for his clients.
Lex is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA), The Cook County Bar Association (CCBA), the Illinois Bar Association (ISBA), and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL).
